The Chairman of RepetCo Innovations, Rafael Sánchez-Castillo, participated today in the event ‘Castilla-La Mancha, industrial epicentre of the new economy’, organised by the Regional Ministry of Economy, el Instituto de Promoción Exterior de Castilla-La Mancha (Ipex) y la Asociación Multinacionales por Marca España.
During the round table discussion ‘Castilla-La Mancha’s Circular Economy Strategy’, Rafael Sánchez-Castillo stated that RepetCo “is going to do something unique, the recycling of multilayer PET/PE containers used in the food industry to avoid them ending up in landfills or incineration plants,” as is currently the case.
RepetCo’s treatment and recycling plant, with an investment of 47 million euros, is going to be built in the Romica Industrial Estate in Albacete and is expected to be operational by spring 2021. This location has been chosen, said the president, because “in Castilla-La Mancha we have found the three necessary must-haves for it: energy, logistics and its commitment to integral waste management”. Furthermore, he continued, “The main strengths of this region are its orderly management and its capacity to provide for all the entrepreneur’s needs. “.
The event was also attended by the Regional Minister of Economy, Business and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, Patricia Franco, the Director of Circular Economy, Marta Gómez, the Director of Business, Javier Rosell, the Director of Instituto de Promoción Exterior de Castilla-La Mancha (Ipex), Luis Noé, the Executive Director of ICEX – Invest in Spain, Mº Jesús Fernández, as well as representatives of other companies to present their projects and strategies related to the circular economy.
