INNOVATION AND EXPERIENCE

INNOVATION AND EXPERIENCE

REPETCO is a European company that has developed an absolutely innovative solution to end a problem: the recycling of plastic containers for post-food consumption.

For the first time, we have a unique process for the recycling of plastic containers of post-food consumption origin.

Our company is an independent project and is driven by a group of private investors
and professionals with extensive experience and 100% committed to the project.

We combine, therefore, the best of the spirit of entrepreneurship with the experience
of the multiple business activities developed in recent years by our team

We have very clear ideas and a value offer unknown until now, based on the research work we have developed in recent years.

In short, we are revolutionizing the ecosystem of plastics recycling and the circular economy in a sustainable, clean way and with a clear positive impact on the environment.

Our aim is to revolutionise the world of the circular economy and the recycling of plastic containers

A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM: THE RECYCLING OF MULTILAYER PLASTIC

A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM: THE RECYCLING OF MULTILAYER PLASTIC

In the world, it is already possible to carry out the recycling of bottles made with PET plastics.

However, until the incorporation of the technology developed by REPETCO, the same did not happen with multilayer PET food containers, which, unlike the plastic in bottles, are mostly made up of layers of different materials, joined by adhesive glues of various compositions.

This material made a successful and efficient recycling process impossible, causing a huge environmental problem. In Western Europe, between 700,000 and 1,100,000 tons of rigid multilayer PET/PE trays are discarded every year. Instead of being recycled, they are buried or incinerated.

With REPETCO technology, after delamination of the multilayer container, the plastic material of all layers is recycled and rPET pellets are produced for later use by the food industry, among others. In addition to the environmental dimension, this model provides a solution to an economic problem, due to the relevance of this type of packaging for the food industry.

We have a strong clear-cut commitment: Make the difference with a unique business project.

OUR BUSINESS

OUR BUSINESS

At REPETCO, we have developed our own patented technology, with its own international patent WIPO (WO2020025836 – SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING THE LAYERS OF MULTILAYER PLASTICS). It allows us to recycle, through an innovative process that does not use harmful chemicals to the environment, all types of post-consumer plastic food containers, within the scope of what is known as circular economy.

Our value proposition represents a true revolution in the recycling and circular economy. It will avoid PET / PE trays – present in many containers in the food industry – piling in landfills or incineration plants, with the resulting negative effects on the environment.

With our exclusive technology, we will be able to reuse, on average, through a clean and non-contaminating mechanical recycling process, approximately 75,000 tons per year of used packaging from the food industry, and final production of around 45,000 tons of rPET pellets per year.

Unlike bottles, multilayer PET / PE film used in food packaging consists of several layers of different materials, joined together by adhesive glues.

We will generate rPET pellets and rPE that can be reused by the food industry to produce trays and containers made of PET / PE multi-layered film; bottles for soft drinks or detergents; and fibres for the textile and automotive industry.

DIRECT JOBS

Our factory will create 50 direct jobs and hundreds of indirect jobs.

We are supported by many national and international customers and suppliers, who have been part of this project since its beginning.

One of the main and relevant features of our facilities is that, due to the technology which will be used, no toxic components are required to recycle the containers.

It will be a 100% clean factory from the environmental point of view.
